HOW TO SET THE STAGE
(so you can go from rising star to real estate rock star)

Step 1:
Embrace the CEO.

Here’s where I see so many real estate agents go wrong: They don’t consider themselves entrepreneurs and CEOs, so they don’t run their business like one.

Sure, you’re still learning the ropes and figuring out exactly how to navigate appraisals, contracts, and negotiations. But make no mistake: You’re more than a “broker.” You’re the CEO of your real estate business. And what does every baller CEO have? A clear vision and a step-by-step plan. 

The first step in becoming the CEO of your real estate business is mastering your money and creating a bulletproof foundation for managing your cash flow. I want you to sit down, set clear monthly revenue goals, and figure out exactly how many listings or buyers you need in order to make those goals happen. This foundational business exercise will help you create an intentional business designed to help you reach your financial goals. 


Step 2:
Become a neighborhood expert.

You may have heard that the riches are in the niches. In my experience, this couldn’t be more true. Instead of trying to be everything to everyone and taking every client that comes your way, I want you to choose what I call your “Zone of Happiness” and stay in that zone.

That means deciding what community you’re going to become a master of and, well, mastering it. Go on weekly broker tours, study market values, explore the neighborhood and start creating connections with local business owners.


Step 3:
Define your ideal client.

Once you’ve zeroed in on what geographic region or neighborhood you plan to specialize in, it’s time to start attracting your perfect client. But first, you need to know who your dream client is. 

If you could wave a magic wand and serve the perfect person, who would it be? Do you want to help families with young kids? Empty nesters looking to live that downtown condo life? Newlyweds in search of their first home? It’s all about serving the smallest viable audience. Now, before you freak out, this isn’t about turning business away. Just because you have your ideal client defined does not mean that you don’t serve anybody else. It just means that when you’re creating your marketing plan, you’re creating it to attract that certain person. This will impact what kind of Facebook groups you join, what networking events you attend, and the kind of events you might host. It will even impact the kind of insider knowledge you’ll need to learn about your community.
