Step 1:
Define your ideal client.

It’s time to get focused on attracting and nurturing your perfect client. But first, you need to know who your dream client is. If you could wave a magic wand and clone your favorite client, who would it be? Do you want to help families with young kids? Empty nesters looking to live that downtown condo life? Newlyweds in search of their first home? It’s all about serving the smallest viable audience. Now, before you freak out, this isn’t about turning business away. Just because you have your ideal client defined does not mean that you don’t serve anybody else. It just means that when you’re creating your marketing plan, you’re creating it to attract that certain person. This will impact what kind of Facebook groups you join, what networking events you attend, and the kind of events you might host. It will even impact the kind of insider knowledge you’ll need to in your community.


Step 2:
Build a brand.

But wait … shouldn’t my broker handle that? After all, they already have a brand.” 

You may not be Nike, but you are a personal brand. Your clients aren’t doing business with your broker. They’re doing business with you. And in order to stand out from the millions of other real estate agents out there, you have to establish a presence that’s yours and no one else’s. That means building a website, being known for something specific (aka, serving the ideal client you identified in Step 1), and putting yourself out there so you start getting leads and referrals.


Step 3:
Dominate your online presence.

I’m not talking about posting once or twice on Facebook. I’m talking about being showing up where your ideal clients’ are on the regular, so you can be as impossible to ignore as Taylor Swift and become a household name in your community. That means creating content that caters to your ideal client, and yes, showing your face on video to build know, like and trust. It may sound intimidating at first, but with the right step-by-step action plan, you’ll feel like a pro in no time.

Remember that it’s not about showing up perfectly, with every hair in place and your face camera-ready. It’s about showing up consistently. This is what will separate you from the millions of other real estate agents who will never take the time to do this.
